Judi and Grant have been married since 1967 – the year of Canada’s centennial. Since then, they’ve been through it all together. They bought a house, raised children and even were able to buy a second property in Florida. But a couple of years ago, Judi ran into some health issues that put their ability to travel south—or travel at all—in jeopardy. She was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
For a while, Judi got by on home oxygen services provided by ProResp. But eventually, in 2021, Judi’s condition deteriorated to the point that she required a lung transplant. The couple travelled from their home in Western Ontario to Toronto, where they would spend 4 months recovering from the transplant.
Afterward, Judi’s new lung worked great. But by 2023, she again required home oxygen support. Judi and Grant knew just who to call—ProResp.
“From that first encounter and every time since, ProResp has been extremely positive and helpful to Judi and me,” Grant told us. “The people we’ve encountered have all been very kind and sympathetic to Judi’s condition.”
This past October, their daughter wanted to throw Grant an 80th birthday party in Louisville, Kentucky. The only question was whether and how Judi would be able to make the journey.
“We asked ProResp if it was even possible, and they didn’t hesitate,” said Grant. “They came up with exactly what we needed,” supplying the couple with portable oxygen machines and concentrators that would keep Judi comfortable.
“It really is such a comfort to know we have that support,” Grant said. “We are hoping to go to Florida at Christmas and we know we can because ProResp will make sure of it. At our age, we deal with a lot of service providers. Nobody really compares to the way ProResp delivers. Always timely, always with a smile and always taking all the time we need to feel like our questions are answered.”
Thanks, Grant and Judi, and have fun in Florida!
