Madeleine loves to cook for people. Scalloped potatoes are her favourite. She had to put her passion on hold when she was admitted to hospital with pneumonia and a collapsed lung. As her doctors stabilized her condition and started to see improvements, they began working with ProResp to create a plan to get Madeleine home. “I'm able to slowly get back to doing the things I love—and that’s thanks to ProResp,” Madeleine told us.
The first day home from the hospital was chaotic. “We had a PSW here, a nurse, and ProResp getting me set-up on my oxygen,” Madeleine said. “It was a lot to absorb, but I had some friends here to help and it’s been steady improvements ever since. ProResp even brought me suitable portable oxygen so that I can get out of the house and go on walks again. The attentiveness of my RTs has been exceptional.”
Madeleine is supported by ProResp’s ATouchAway™ virtual care platform from Aetonix. Using a tablet supplied by ProResp, Madeleine checks her blood oxygen levels daily and answers questions about symptoms so that her RTs can remotely monitor her condition between in-home visits and make timely interventions to improve her care outcomes.
With the steady improvement Madeleine is making under ProResp’s care, she will be having her friends and neighbours over for home cooked dinners again in no time!
